MONTECRISTO WAS EXCLUSIVE CIGAR SPONSOR AT MICHAEL JORDAN’S
CELEBRITY GOLF TOURNAMENT
Altadis U.S.A.’s flagship Montecristo cigars shared
the spotlight at a paparazzi-worthy event as some of Hollywood’s hottest stars hit the links
with many of the world’s biggest sports names and about 100 lucky amateurs at the Michael Jordan
Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament.
Montecristo, considered by aficionados to be the
world’s most revered brand, was the exclusive on-site cigar at the event, which raised money
for a variety of charities, and was held at the fabulous Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in the
Bahamas this past January.
Montecristo sets the standard for cigar quality, and tournament
guests got to enjoy two of the brand’s finest - the smooth, subtly complex Montecristo Classic
and the exquisite limited edition Cabinet Selección - during an enviable weekend of golfing all
day and partying at night, The Montecristo booth was set up at the first tee so participants
could pick up a generous supply of cigars each day to enjoy throughout the festivities.
Celebrities
from the worlds of film, baseball, gridiron and hoops joined in the tournament, including actors
Chris Tucker, Samuel L. Jackson, Aidan Quinn and James Caan; football greats John Elway, Marcus
Allen and Richard Dent; baseball all-stars Ken Griffey Jr., Joe Morgan and Mike Piazza; and basketball
VIPSs Julius Erving and Alonzo Mourning. And as if that wasn’t enough star-power, former president
Bill Clinton was also in attendance.
